21-time Grand Slam Champion Novak Djokovic on missing Indian Wells, Miami tournaments due to US vaccine requirements, If I can’t go, I can’t:
Novak Djokovic (Grand Slam champion) said I can’t do much as US authority has said proof of Covid vaccination for non US personal is mandatory till at least 10th April. Due to which he wants to miss the opportunity to play in Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open.
Grand Slam champion Novak said he could not say or do much about the entry ban in the US, which will rule him out of both the March and April tournaments. Djokovic has not received the Covid vaccine, due to which he will be denied entry to the US as the US authorities said that non-American personal will need to be vaccinated to enter the country.
Novak has missed the chance to play the US Open in 2022 due to the lack of a vaccine – the vaccination was mandatory to enter the United States amid the pandemic. Novak Djokovic has said he would be prepared to skip the tournament due to lack of evidence of a vaccine, adding that he has the right to choose what to put in his body.
News Reports, The US Transportation Security Administration said overseas air travelers will need to be fully vaccinated against the disease by April 10, Novak Djokovic said on Thursday, “Look, if it’s official,” I can hope to participate in the tournament, but if I can’t go to the tournament, I can’t go.”
He was deported from Australia last year for not applying Novak Djokovic’s vaccine. He lost the chance to defend the Australian Open title last year and faced a visa ban of 3 years. However, the visa ban has been revoked and Novak Djokovic has been allowed to enter Australia in early January. Novak Djokovic could be one of the favorites to win the Australian Open title later this month Djokovic will face Denis Shapovalov in the quarter-finals on Friday.
