It’s not clear yet if the Los Angeles Lakers trading for patrick Beverley rules out Dennis Schroder returning to the team now the thing is the lakers would have a really guard heavy roster, if Russell Westbrook was still on the team, and then they also had patrick Beverley, dennis Schroder and Kendrick Nunn that’s a lot of point guards to have on the roster.
I’m not sure that would work out, but if Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn were traded, then that could leave some rooms open for some point guard minutes although, i think that Kendrick Nunn can be an impact player for the lakers in this upcoming season. and that he can be really good for the team but when you look at Russell Westbrook and what’s going on with the potential trade, it doesn’t look like the lakers are going to be willing to bench Russell Westbrook, and say you know what you’re not going to play like John Wall did over this past season, in Houston and it makes sense,
The lakers are in a different situation than houston, they can’t really afford to just sit Russell Westbrook, especially considering that other teams around the league would see that and say wow the lakers would rather bench Russell Westbrook than play him just because they think that, he’s not going to be able to impact winning on this roster, and that would leave other teams wanting the lakers to give up more in trades in my opinion, so i don’t really think that’s an option for the lakers for that reason now when you look at free agency i think that dennis Schroder is one of the best free agents still available.
But dennis Schroder is one of the best free agents still available, so if the lakers ended up trading Kendrick Nunn and Russell Westbrook, and they were in need of another point guard, i think that Schroder could fit on the roster really well, i mean let’s say the lakers get in the mix with the knicks and the jazz, and they trade both Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn in a three-team trade, then they could be looking at adding another point guard and Schroder could fill that role perfectly for them but in any other circumstance, i just think they’d have too many guards you could be looking at lineups, where patrick Beverley’s playing the two or maybe you have smaller lineups where Kendrick nuns at the two, i just don’t really see how there would be enough minutes to really go around but the lakers could end up making another move so depending on how their roster shapes up their needs at each position could change, and they could be in need of another point guard.
But in my opinion, i think that Kendrick Nunn is going to be really good for the lakers in this upcoming season. I know that he missed this entire past season, and people weren’t happy about that but i think that in a return year Kendrick Nunn could have a really good season, because the prior year in Miami, he was really good and he could have a good year in lakers, if he stays healthy and plus, i feel like teams won’t be as willing to give up impact players in a trade, evolving kendrick Nunn due to his injury issues over this past season.
So it might be better off if the lakers say, you know what we’re gonna keep Kendrick Nunn, then you have two point guards in patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn in the scenario, that the lakers trade Russell Westbrook and then i feel like it’s just about rounding out the roster, well and of course you still have your stars in LeBron and Anthony Davis.
