Well it looks like the Lakers have finally realized they might need another center with Mo Bamba still being out for quite some time the Los Angeles Lakers have worked out Tristan Thompson and Tony Bradley both of these guys could bring a skill set where they could score inside set screens and just play the center position for you fill some backup big minutes for the team now if I was the Lakers I’d be taking a hard look at Tristan Thompson out of him and Tony Bradley just because Tristan Thompson can bring that veteran experience, and he has a lot of experience playing with LeBron James him and LeBron won a championship together in 2016 and Tristan Thompson was a key player on that team he ended up getting a really big contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers while playing with LeBron James and then since then he’s kind of just bounced around the league after that contract expires.
I think he’s been with the bulls he might have been in with the Pacers for a little bit he’s bounced around a bit since then but Tristan Thompson is a guy who has chemistry with LeBron, and we’ve seen LeBron make his big men look a lot better since leaving the Lakers Thomas Bryant has struggled now that he has had a smaller role in Denver as a backup big for Nikola Jokic, a guy who gets a ton of usage in their offense, but you look at Tristan Thompson and since he stopped playing with LeBron James, he hasn’t been nearly as effective but maybe alongside LeBron we could see him sort of have a resurgence in his career.
He is only 32 years old and it was reported that he’s in good shape, so if he’s ready to go, the Lakers are in need of a big I don’t see why they wouldn’t at least take a chance on him with a 10-day contract they could really use a guy who could go out there and snag some rebounds and maybe get a couple baskets inside, really that’s all the Lakers need out of a backup right now, especially to fill the gap where they don’t have Mo Bamba.
Maybe the Lakers will be able to get him back at some point by the end of the regular season or maybe in the playoffs I’m not exactly sure but if the Lakers could go out and get a big who could just help them for now that would be huge just having that size out there on the court because while Wendy and Gabriel is a guy who can play well for your team and grab you some rebounds at six foot nine and 200 pounds he doesn’t exactly have the size you’d like out of a big man, and he often gets in foul trouble so if you’re in a situation when he’s in foul trouble you don’t really have anybody else to go to as a backup big man so Tristan Thompson could also be nice for that role with the team when you consider that Wendy and Gabriel is a guy who’s prone to getting in foul trouble he can bring a lot of energy to the table but those fouls can also be an issue that comes along with all of that energy.
Tristan Thompson has been a key part of the Cleveland Cavaliers since he was drafted in 2011. In 2023, he will be entering his 13th season with the team and is expected to continue playing at a high level. With his veteran leadership and experience, he will be an invaluable asset to the Cavaliers as they look to compete for a championship in the upcoming season. Thompson’s ability to rebound, defend and score make him one of the most versatile players in the NBA. His presence on the court will be an integral part of any success that Cleveland achieves this year.
