also Anthony Davis’s injury that he had over the past season, and how that impacted him let’s go ahead and let’s get into it looks like we could see some competition between Damian Jones and Thomas Bryant for minutes at the five but so far it looks like Damian Jones has been outplaying Thomas Bryant through training camp.
Damian Jones has been in the Los Angeles Lakers first unit so far throughout camp now when you look at Thomas Bryant he is coming off injury, but he’s saying that he’s really healthy and ready to go but if Damian Jones can go out there and space the floor at a high level along with his good defense and being a lob threat he could definitely be a major presence for the Lakers in this upcoming season.
So when you look at Damian Jones if he adds that three-point shot to his game and really implements it maybe taking let’s say two threes a game in this upcoming season and hitting them efficiently he would be a great addition for the Lakers especially considering Lakers sign him on a minimum and Thomas Bryant he has been a floor spacers throughout his career at the center position he’s a good rebounder.
And I think that he could also be another really good option for Lakers at the five.I think that the Lakers Center death is going to be significantly better in this upcoming season than it was over this past season.
Especially when you consider that they’ve gotten younger at that position hopefully they can stay healthy there and have that depth throughout the entirety of the year now with Anthony Davis he actually had a wrist injury and last season he really struggled with jump shooting, but he’s saying he feels great now and that wrist injury shouldn’t be holding him back anymore hopefully we can see Anthony Davis locked in not only offensively but defensively if he can hit a three here or there let’s say shooting 34 or 35 percent from the three-point line that could help the Lakers out a lot.
I think with LeBron turning 38 in this upcoming season A. D not only needs to be the defensive leader of the Lakers but the offensive leader and go out there and really help La in this upcoming season as they look to bounce back I think that with Darvin Ham coaching this team and with a lot of guys who are really hungry to get minutes in the rotation a lot of guys who seem really excited about locking in on the defensive side of the ball.
The Lakers could definitely have a chance to have a better season this year than they did over this past year now I still think that the roster and construction isn’t exactly the best.But maybe adding in an additional Wing a guy like Moe harkless who is six foot nine with a seven-foot two wingspans could help out the Lakers defensively.
