The Cleveland Cavaliers came out of nowhere and ended up trading for Donovan Mitchell, they went all in and now they have a scary young core but how does this affect the Los Angeles Lakers well.
The Los Angeles Lakers they have been looking to trade Russell Westbrook for quite some time, now based on reports but really what’s been holding things up is the fact that they’re unwilling to include two future unprotected first round picks, but it might end up that they end up breaking on trading those two future picks, if that means they can get win now help but the opportunity to get that win now help is now after this Donovan Mitchell trade Kevin Durant is going to be back in Brooklyn for this season.
And with that Donovan Mitchell ends up getting traded, and now you’re looking at a situation where there’re two teams you can really look to the Utah Jazz and also the Indiana Pacers to try to improve your roster, because we’re seeing Juggernaut teams emerge like the Cleveland Cavaliers leaders, I mean they’re gonna be amazing in this upcoming season, in my opinion with the addition of Donovan Mitchell but when you look at the trade discussions between the Lakers and other teams it looks like there’s been quite a few teams getting involved in these Russell Westbrook trade talks.
So the Lakers might have more options than we think when it comes to Westbrook trades and maybe we see Russell Westbrook go to a team we didn’t expect because we saw that with Donovan Mitchell today and the Lakers if they do trade those two future first round picks, I think it helps them, when it comes to getting a deal done and it seems like unprotected first round picks do have quite a bit of value in trades we saw that with the Donovan Mitchell trade today the Utah Jazz ended up getting three unprotected first round picks.
The Lakers have two unprotected first round picks, that they can work with right now, so when you look at the Los Angeles Lakers options, like I said I feel like the Jazz and the Pacers are the two most obvious options, I mean the Utah Jazz just ended up trading Donovan Mitchell there’s really no need for them to keep some of the veteran guys, they have on the team and with that maybe they look to trade some of those guys and the Lakers can get involved adding some more depth to their roster or you look to the Indiana Pacers if the Lakers trade those two future unprotected first round picks, maybe they could add both Myles Turner and Buddy Hield two players, who would immediately help their rotation.
So much overall I think that as the season, approaches this really opens things up for the Lakers and gives them some urgency, because we’ve just seen Donovan Mitchell traded, I don’t think we’ll see any other stars on the Move outside of a potential Russell Westbrook trade.
